Biogas Flares

Landfill Systems design and manufacture five ranges of biogas flares:
High Temperature Flares for De-gassing

The LD range of flares is used for biogas de-gassing applications, typically used with anaerobic digestion plant, synthetic (pyrolysis) gas plant and for landfill gas environmental control. The extracted gas is burnt in an enclosed flare stack in a controlled combustion process which, when required, ensures compliance with the UK Environment Agency exhaust gas emissions limits. Turndown ratios of up to 10:1 can be accommodated.
High Temperature Flares for Power Generation Applications

The LG range of flares is used for combined biogas de-gassing and utilisation applications, typically used with anaerobic digestion plant, synthetic (pyrolysis) gas plant and for landfill gas environmental control. They include systems for delivering gas at controlled pressure for power generation. That portion of extracted gas which is not needed for power generation is automatically burnt in an enclosed flare stack in a controlled combustion process which, when required, ensures compliance with the UK Environment Agency exhaust gas emissions limits. Turndown ratios of up to 10:1 can be accommodated.

Where gas pressure boosting is not required, stand-alone flare stacks complete with pressure control systems can be supplied.
Low Calorific Gas Flares

The LC range of high performance gas flares has been specifically developed to address the need to safely dispose of low flows of gas or flows of gas with low methane content, such as are increasingly found on aging landfill sites. Gas flows with a methane content as low as 13% can be handled. There is no need for an additional fuel gas (such as Propane) to support combustion or to light the flare. The flares can be fully controlled and monitored remotely via a smart phone app and also via text message.

Vent Air Burners

The VAB range of flares is used for the thermal oxidation of odorous off-gasses, specifically those produced by the re-generation of siloxane filtering systems. The VAB is highly effective and practically eliminates nuisance odours using a small flow of the source biogas as a fuel. The plant functions automatically and is normally integrated with the filtering system.
Elevated Flares

This range of simple elevated flares is typically used for short term applications (such as gas pumping trials) or those where exhaust gas emissions are not subject to regulation. The combustion process is visible and the combustion temperature is not controlled.
Equipment Hire

Landfill Systems have an extensive fleet of flaring equipment available for short or long term hire at competitive rates.

Gas flows from 50 to 2,000Nm3/hr can be catered for. If a larger flow capacity than this is required, multiple units can provided at reduced rates. We can also provide higher pressure stand-alone gas booster packages suitable for power generation applications.

Landfill Systems can deliver, connect and commission, or can supply only, to suit our customers’ needs. Gas analysis, data storage and telemetry systems can be incorporated in the hire package.
